Rubbles on deck

On my drive home yesterday, I saw a pile of stones and the heap did not suit the perfectly trimmed landscape of the street it was on. Nevertheless, my first thought was not eek what a mess or dang that’s an eye sore. Instead I thought hmm I wonder whats cooking, as in what does the builder have planned for this piece of land. I do not live on that street, and what is or isn’t done has no personal bearing on my life, yet I felt excitement for what is to come. Basically, a pile of haphazardly mounted stones on a plot of land in a street with rows of aspirational houses, with beautifully laid cobblestones creating pathways to perfectly manicured lawns peaked my curiosity and made me dream.

For many of us, our lives look like a heap of stones, which makes us think that we stick out like sore thumbs in a land where everyone else seems to have the nuts and bolts of their lives tightly wound. But aye aye captain you’ve got this all wrong. Pending where you stand, and from which vantage point you see, those stones could either be seen as ruins or as building materials.

So on this beautiful Monday, I’ll say this. For anyone that feels like they do not have what it takes to build from rubbles, God says to you what he passionately said to the Jews while their city was in shambles. Now I will rescue you and make you both a symbol and a source of blessing. So do not be afraid. Be strong, and get on with rebuilding the temple! \Zachariah 8:13, NLT\ His promise came with an instruction. A command. Do not lay your bed in the ruins of what life has dealt you or in the consequences of previous mistakes. Do not be like them that say I remember my hay days with shrunken shoulders — a reflection of their state of mind. Do not convince yourself that your best days are long gone. Square up and press on.

The beauty of grace is redemption, and x 70 if necessary. The one who is himself grace has better plans for you and he says that your latter years will be greater than your former \Haggai 2:9\. But, you gotta stretch out your hand so that he can help you rise again.

Happy monYAY 💕

xoxo
