At the beginning of this year, God gave me a word,
See I am doing a new thing. Now it springs up; do your perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness, and streams in the wastelands.
Isaiah 43:19
It was to me a love note, and one that I especially needed. I knew I was rightly positioned to receive because I was looking. However, I was in search of something that I couldn’t quite place my finger on. But the good news is that God always knows what we are in need of, and so by His spirit, I found exactly what I needed to anchor me for the year.
Isaiah 43:19 was in that moment (mere) food for thought, but in the months to come, those words became water for a thirsty soul. This year has been, for lack of a more definitive word, something serious. I have been stretched in ways I didn’t think I had the capacity for. You know the Bible talks about God being all knowing. We read it and think oh ya, then walk on by not giving it much thought.
It is real to me now, God is omniscient. He gave me this gift that has unwrapped itself beautifully through the course of the year. HE KNEW. Just when I thought, yup this is it, a new thing would spring up, in the form of a word of encouragement from a (not so random) random quote, or a call or message from a friend to check-in, or a kiss on the forehead from my hubby, or little bursts of energy that would come seemingly out of nowhere, or at points I promise you I literally felt like God was hugging me.
See, I (God) am doing a new thing.
Now it springs up, do you believe enough to see it?
I am making a way in the wilderness, and streams in the wastelands, do you trust me?
When things were stagnant, and even my best efforts yielded nothing, I had to remind myself β God said…
When the thoughts of failure nagged at me, beating at the gates of my resolve, I had to remind myself β God said…
I had to see life in dead places, fruit in barren places and hope in hopeless places. I had to see God.
Those silent questions are worth considering, because it is in the perceiving, being conscious (aware) of God in your life that anchors you, and stills your heart.
The leaves are starting to fall, and the colours are changing to beautiful shades of yellows and browns. Autumn is here, creating room for new life. You may be there thinking that this year has passed you by, feeling like you have nothing of substance to show for the days gone by. Know this, nothing about your life is a surprise to God, there is room for new life (a new thing) to spring out of you. God gives life to everything, and in Him you were created… through Him and for Him |Col. 1:6|.
Happy monyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!

“Know this, nothing about your life is a surprise to God,” –> how profound! Reminding ourselves of this daily helps to just let go and let God…

Yup! God dependency in everything. Even the seemingly little things.
