Contagion

To say that its been a wild few days would be putting it lightly. It’s been in my opinion, wildness of titanic proportions.

If anyone ever questioned the virus that is fear, you only need to view the trending videos of empty shelves, fights breaking out in stores over tissue paper, the tumbling stock market and so forth, to know that fear can lead to rack and ruin.

How timely that I have been intimately wrapped up in James. His teachings echoing so loudly as the world sorta fell apart. Count it all joy James says, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know the testing of your faith produces perseverance. I looked up the word perseverance, and immediately connected to its synonym staying power… and isn’t that just what we need at this time, as we face the dicey nature of the unknown.

James goes on to say, if anyone lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. This has been my prayer all week, that we as Christians have the presence of mind to ask ๐“™๐“ฎ๐“ฑ๐“ธ๐“ฟ๐“ช๐“ฑ ๐“ก๐“ช๐“น๐“ฑ๐“ช for wisdom, for the doctors, nurses, researchers and scientists as they grapple with this tyrant called Corona; but also for political leaders and ourselves as individuals in our everyday lives, going to and fro. That we have the faith to call on ๐“™๐“ฎ๐“ฑ๐“ธ๐“ฟ๐“ช๐“ฑ ๐“๐“ฒ๐“ผ๐“ผ๐“ฒ for protection, and deliverance for not just for ourselves and those dear to us, but to boldly ask for the world. That we do not forget who we are as Christians, and we put feet to our faith, and speak boldly the promises of God. What better way to bring glory to God, than to rise and shine in the midst of chaos. What an opportunity to point to Jesus by being light in this season of darkness.

ฯั•ฮฑโ„“ะผ 91 has been on a continuous loop in my mind,

he who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. For he will deliver you (me) from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you (me) with his pinions, and under his wings you (I) will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler. You (I) will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday. A thousand may fall at your (my) side, ten thousand at your (my) right hand, but it will not come near you (me). You (I) will only look with your (my) eyes and see the recompense of the wicked. Because you (I) have made the Lord your (my) dwelling place.

As I continue to see encouraging reels on social media, and take stock of conversations had through the course of the week, it is refreshing to see the body of Christ rally to build up their most holy faith, while (in the name of Jesus) influencing others along the way. As Pastor Jeremy Foster said this past weekend, what a time to bring Christianity outside of the four walls of church, and show the world Jesus.

If nothing else, my faith in God has been strengthened, as I have been reminded yet again just how much of a sinking sand this world is.

Please be smart, take precautions. Pay heed to, and follow the instructions provided by the medical community. There is wisdom in obedience. But hey… abide (stay) in ๐“™๐“ฎ๐“ฑ๐“ธ๐“ฟ๐“ช๐“ฑ ๐“ข๐“ฑ๐“ช๐“ต๐“ธ๐“ถ, your only constant peace.

This too shall pass.

Happy monyaaaaaaaaaay!

  1. So true . Itโ€™s in times like this our faith will be tested & so many of us are already failing to moment fear & panic sets it . Went to target store last night , shelves for toilet paper, tissues, paper towel , food & water… empty . It is sad because no signs of faith nor love in that at all. Like all the health workers in the front lines , Corona V is our new normal , we still go back to work knowing God will protect us & tomorrow , God will provide like he always will . For those who hoarded out there & left none for their brother & sisters..shame. Thanks for this inspiring read .

    1. Ya, I was honestly gumsmacked. Like how much tissue could one person need, even if you were to be isolated for 2 weeks. But in all this, we thank God for His mercies. The end of this matter is praise. I truly believe that. Thanks so much for stopping by!
