W O R S H I P

Is there anything more beautiful than autumn?
She is nature in living colour.
Her variant hues of brown, yellow, orange, red, and purple, captivating your heart,
and drawing you into her folds of warmth; making the crisp air more bearable.
She is God’s fingerprint,
the femme fatale of all seasons.
His masterful work on display,
for our viewing pleasure.

She marks the end of something,
but is also a bridge to a new beginning.
Her splendour may only last for a season,
but she frets not.
Instead, she rests,
until beckoned for yet another radiant debut.
It blows my mind, that even in her best regalia, she is but a tiny fraction of God’s brilliance.

How can I think of a God who swaddles the whole earth with dazzling skies,
and not worship Him?
How can I think of a God who blankets the earth with flakes of white gold,
a sweet spot for many playful childhood memories, and not worship Him?
How can I enjoy the fragrant flowers wantonly picked to scent my home, and not worship Him?
How can I see a smile in the midst of pain, or a hug in a divided world, or helping hands in a generation taught to be tight fisted, and not worship Him?
How is it possible to not see God in the details, when His providence, preeminence, and divine artistry is so abundantly clear?

Today, autumn inspired my worship.
But it was also a sweet moment shared between two lovers; my husband and I.
It was the boldness I felt when my feet hit the ground this morning,
and my smiling face when I looked in the mirror.
It was the lovely note a friend sent me,
and a silly comment made by another friend that made me laugh.
It was hearing my mother’s voice, and the honking cars in the busy streets.
It was the soothing feeling I got from drinking a glass of good ol’ plain hot water to kickstart my day.
It was my friend giving me a tour of her new beautiful space, and seeing the joy on her face. It was the Terra plantain chips I munched on, and the delightful Bossa Nova instrumentals that strummed on my heart strings. It was my counselling sessions that proved to be fruitful, and the tears that streamed down my face as I reflected on His faithfulness.

Worship. 𝘈𝘯 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘥𝘰𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯.
Right now, in this moment, I am thinking…
YAHWEH. You alone deserve my worship.

Happy monyaaaaaaay!

xoxo

Mel.

STUDY VERSES:
psalm 71:8, Isaiah 40:8

I cannot describe what this song does for me. It stirs my heart. Every. Single. Time. It is so humbling to see His beauty and brilliance expressed through the talents and gifts of these folks. To think that this is just a snippet of what worship is like in Heaven. WHEW! Amazing!
