I would like to encourage you today. Not with my words, but God’s.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ (that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior), he is a new creature (reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit); the old things (the previous moral and spiritual condition) have passed away. Behold new things have come. But all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ (making us acceptable to Him) and gave us the ministry of reconciliation (so that by our example we might bring others to Him), that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting people’s sins against them (but canceling them) (2 Cor. 5:17).
In Christ, you are made new. The old is replaced with the new. Your sins are cancelled. Forgotten. Irrelevant. You however, have to renew your mind continuously to catch up.
Let me repeat that.
Your sins are cancelled. Not you.
He has removed our sins (transgressions, wrongdoings) as far from us as the east is from the west (Psalm 103:12).
With you, relationship is kindled.
Sin is cancelled. You are reconciled.
So, if the enemy attempts to play snake and ladder with your mind, you are free to step on the snake, and off the ladder. In Christ, all of you belongs to God. Submitted to God, you have the authority to resist the devil and he will flee (James 4:7).
As you enter this new week, let this be a reminder.
The name of Jesus is above all, including your past and the shame that has you in a choke hold.
Live in liberty. In the finished works of Christ.
His will is that our example might bring others to Him.
How will you spend time with God this week?
PS: I love that we sprung forward but I sure am feeling the loss of that hour this morning.
Nevertheless, Happy Monyaaay!
Have a blessed week!
Xo, Mel.
