The world is in tatters and if we do not take care, so will we.
The times we live in require deep roots, and it all starts with the mind.
You cannot deny the power the mind wields.
It is where the fiercest battles rage.
As they say, what you give power has power over you.
A scary thought, isn’t it? Except, of course, submission is to Him who holds all power.
That’s a win in my books. The biggest, in fact.
Make no mistake, there is a systemic fight for our minds.
It is in social constructs, traditions, culture, legislation, media and even religion.
To let your guard down is to offer an open invitation for trespassers to invade and pillage through.
A rather costly move.
Take the reins.
Ask questions, have gracious conversations, limit exposure to certain things, and instruct your soul on what to do. David said, yes, my soul, find rest in God. Lest I forget, my hope comes from him. Psalms 62:5. Stay alert. Pray!
Jesus said, peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Don’t let your heart be troubled or fearful. John 14:27.
His peace is in His presence. Wholly experienced when we abide.
There is more than meets the human eye. Life is spiritual. There is good and there is evil. There is God and there is an adversary. I echo these words by Jackie Hill Perry. I am not saying that the devil and demons are hiding under every rock or lurking behind every corner, but they will put their little greasy hands on whatever they can access. God forbid you forget you have a real enemy actively working to destroy you and everything you touch.
People, to demolish strongholds and every thought that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, take captive every thought to obey Christ, and have discerning spirits, we MUST put on the whole armour of God. That is the ONLY way we can stand against the schemes of the devil. He sets us free with his truth. He is our shield. His spirit, the power at work in us. His son, Jesus the authority by which we are victorious.
Do not allow your thoughts to run wild, and your soul with it.
God forbid we believe the lie that we are anything of substance without God.
God forbid we believe the lie that we can do better than Jesus.
God forbid we believe the lie that the Holy Spirit is the pinky finger of the trinity.
Like David, I hope we are quick to cry out to God. Even quicker to ask that He search our hearts. Quicker still to humble ourselves and obey.
If in peace, praise be to God. I pray for more of His peace in your life.
If in pieces, praise be to God. He does masterful work with nothing.
Happy Monyaaaaaaay!
Have a blessed week!
Xo, Mel.
