Rest. Allow yourself breathe. I know it’s been one heck of a year, but you made it. Reflect through the lens of gratitude.
You have cradled some lows, and hung sky high. You have walked the path of unforeseen valleys, and you have reached mountain summits. Or maybe you are still on your way; whatever season you are in, I am rooting for you.
I know that you are tired. Life may have been unkind, 2019 was maybe not your year. You may have been ripped to shreds, and as such struggling to recognize yourself. It is that unscrupulous season, stuck between a rock and a hard place.
I know that place. I have been there, more than a time or two. Life has taught me hard lessons, but as odd as this may sound, I have found hard seasons to be the most liberating for me.
It is on the threshing floor of life that I am most eager to lean into God. That is where pride ceases to exist, and I readily throw my weight on Him. It is in the hard places, and seasons of my life that I met Jesus time and time again. It is where the Holy Spirit developed in me good and lasting fruits. It is where I have seen God move in mighty ways because my faith was no longer in myself, people or things but in Him.
Life is very good at showing us that we need God in every season. The hard seasons however is where (if we allow Him), He shows us the stuff we are made of. It’s the good stuff. The real good stuff. The kind of stuff that weathers wear and tear like a champ. Through the wire, it thrives — think favorite genuine leather belt or gold jewelry. It’s a divine heirloom carried on from season to season.
We are a few hours away from 2020, and I want you to know that you’ve got this. You are built to do great things. You have it in you to thrive in the wilderness, to sing in the valleys, to hold on to your peace in the storms, to be joyful in the unknowns, and to rest in the in-betweens.
Go right ahead, grab 2020 by it’s horns. I am decreeing victory over every battle, and declaring “a new thing” in your life |Isaiah 43:19|.
